These Touareg earrings are inspired by the ancient Touareg tribes of the Sahara Desert and these have the pretty etched markings on them, so characteristic of this style.
The desert nomads would travel from many African lands such as Niger, Algiers, Mali, Techad, Mauritania and Sudan to bring their wares for all to buy in the makeshift souks in the middle of the desert and other cities. One of the busiest routes was from Timbuktu to Marrakech.
